Terms & Conditions

By using the storage services provided by Pack&Store Summer Storage (hereinafter referred to as "the Company"), you (the "Customer") agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Please read these terms carefully before using our services.

 
 

1. Agreement to Terms. By signing up for our summer storage service, you acknowledge and accept these Terms and Conditions, as well as any additional policies, rules, and guidelines that may apply.

 
 

2. Eligibility. Our storage service is available to college students who are at least 18 years of age. If you are under 18, you must have a legal guardian or parent agree to these Terms and Conditions on your behalf.

 
 

3. Storage Services. The Company provides storage for personal items for the duration of the summer break. We will provide packing supplies and pick up, store, and drop off items according to the schedule posted on the Schedules page of the Company website. 


4. What We Store. We accept most personal items, such as clothing, books, electronics, and small furniture. We do not accept hazardous materials, perishable goods, illegal items, firearms, alcohol, or valuable items like cash or jewelry. All items must be packed in accordance with the Packing Instructions page of the Company website and labeled with the provided QR codes for storage.

 
5. Customer Responsibilities. 

  • Packing Supply Kit Pickup: The Customer is responsible for scheduling pickup of the Company Packing Supply Kit in accordance with the information on the Company website. The Customer must use the provided boxes and packing supplies. The Customer is not permitted to utilize their own packing supplies and materials. The Company is not liable for orders not packed using the Packing Supply Kit provided.
  • Packing: The Company is not liable for any damages due to improper packing. It is the Customer's responsibility to exercise due      diligence to avoid damage during transit or storage by: Securely packing belongings using the items in the Packing Supply Kit provided by the Company. Packing in accordance with the Packing Instructions page of the Company website.
  • Inventory: Upon order pickup, Customers must present packed, sealed, and secure boxes packed in accordance with the Packing      Instructions page of the Company website and ensure each item is labeled on all four sides with name labels and the provided QR code required for inventory tracking and insurance purposes.
  • Correct Contact Information: It is the Customer’s responsibility to ensure that the provided contact information is correct. Any delays or failed deliveries due to incorrect information will incur an additional $50 Late/Rescheduling Convenience Fee.


6. Pickup and Drop-Off

  • Scheduling: PickUp and Drop-Off times must be scheduled in advance. The Company will confirm the scheduled date and time. Any changes to the schedule must be made at least 48 hours in advance. Changes made less than 48 hours before the scheduled pickup date will incur an additional $50 Late/Rescheduling Convenience Fee.
  • Customer Preparedness: The Customer must present packed, sealed, and secure boxes in accordance with the Packing Instructions page of the Company website and ensure each item is labeled with the provided Name Label and QR code required for inventory tracking and insurance purposes at the agreed-upon pickup time/scheduled service window. If the order is not ready and causes a schedule delay that impacts operations, the Customer is responsible for a $50 Late/Rescheduling Fee.
  • Order Hand-Off: Due to campus regulations, Company representatives are unable to enter the Customer's dorm. Therefore, it is the Customer's responsibility to bring their sealed and secure boxesβ€”packed in accordance with the Packing Instructions page of the Company website and labeled on all four sides with name labels and the provided QR codeβ€”to an area where they can be securely and safely received by the Company. Within two weeks of Order Hand-Off, the Customer will receive an Order Hand-Off email with an order summary, the name and location of the facility where their order is stored, and specific insurance information associated with the storage facility
  • Access to Items: Storage is available for the duration of the summer break, and the Customer agrees to retrieve their items on the scheduled Drop-Off date. Early or late access requests will be subject to availability and will incur an additional $175 Convenience Fee. These requests must be arranged directly with our moving partner(s), as detailed on the FAQs page of the Company website.
  • Failure to be Present for Pickup: If you are unavailable at the scheduled time for pickup, we will attempt to reschedule. The Customer will incur an additional $175 Convenience Fee, and the arrangement must be made directly with our moving partners, as detailed on the FAQs page of the Company website.
  • Drop-Off Hand-Off: The Company will only return items to the campus where the order was received. The Customer is responsible for transporting their items to an additional location and delivery arrangements can be made through the Moving Partner listed on the Company website. Due to campus regulations, Company representatives are unable to enter the Customer's dorm. Therefore, it is the Customer's responsibility to meet representatives of the Company in an area where items can be securely and safely retrieved. The Customer and the Company Representative must confirm that the total number of boxes and items matches the order summary and that name labels on each item match the customer identification before the items will be released. Within two weeks of Drop-Off, the Customer will receive an Order Close-Out email with a summary of services provided and a declaration of the end of the business relationship.
  • Shipping Requests: If you require your items to be shipped to a location outside our standard delivery area after the storage period: A $175 Inconvenience Fee will be charged by the Company in addition to the actual cost of shipping (determined by weight, size, and destination).  The Customer is responsible for independently scheduling and paying for pickup with the Company's designated third-party moving partner. Contact information for this partner will be provided upon request. Shipping services will not be scheduled or initiated until all outstanding balances are paid in full, including the $175 handling fee.


7. Pricing and Payment

  • Pricing: All fees for storage services will be provided during the booking process. Prices are based on the quantity of items being stored and the duration of storage. Any additional services (e.g., extra boxes, early delivery, rescheduling, etc.) will be billed separately.
  • Payment: The Customer agrees to pay the full amount upfront at the time of booking or as otherwise agreed. We accept various payment methods, including credit cards and online payment systems. The Company does not accept cash.

 
 

8. Insurance and Liability

  • Insurance Coverage: The Company provides limited insurance coverage for damage or loss of stored items. This coverage is subject to a maximum liability limit and basic insurance coverage provided by the storage facility. This typically includes protection against incidents such as fire, theft, and water damage up to a limited dollar amount (which varies by facility). The Customer will receive specific insurance information about the facility where their order is stored in the Customer Hand-Off Summary email no later than two weeks after Order Pickup. While this basic insurance provides some peace of mind, it may not fully cover the value of your belongings. For this reason, the Company strongly recommends that the Customer review their homeowner’s or renter’s insurance policyβ€”some providers include off-premises coverage that may apply to stored itemsβ€”and consider purchasing additional insurance for enhanced protection. The Company lists reputable providers for storage unit insurance in the FAQs of the Company website.
  • Liability: The Company is not responsible for any loss or damage caused by natural disasters, accidents, theft, or improper packing by the Customer. It is recommended that Customers purchase additional insurance if desired.


9. Storage Duration

  • Storage Period: The standard storage period is from April 27, 2025, to September 1, 2025. Any items left in storage beyond the agreed-upon dates will require rescheduled delivery and incur an additional $175 Convenience Fee or be mailed to the Customer. This must be arranged directly with our moving partner(s), as detailed on the FAQs page of the Company website. Any items not claimed by September 5, 2025, will be subject to the Abandoned Item Policy of the storage unit, which will be provided in the Customer Close-Out email.
  • Extended Storage: The Company does not provide extended storage. If the Customer requires extended storage, they must inform the Company via email at makia@packandstoresummerstorage.comand directly contact our moving partner(s) listed on the FAQs page to arrange shipping. Additional fees apply, as determined by the vendor.


10. Termination of Service

  • Customer Cancellation: The Customer may cancel the service up to 7 days before the scheduled pickup date for a full refund. Cancellations made less than 7 days before pickup will forfeit the cost of their purchase.
  •  Company Cancellation: The Company reserves the right to cancel the service in cases of non-payment, illegal activity, or breach of these Terms and Conditions.


11. Damage, Loss, or Theft of Items

  • Claims: In the event of damage, loss, or theft of your items while in our care, you must notify us within 7 days of delivery. The Company will investigate and determine the appropriate course of action.
  • Limitations of Liability: The Company’s liability is limited to the value of the damaged, lost, or stolen items as stated in the original inventory. The Company is not responsible for sentimental or intrinsic value.


12. Access to Items. The Company will provide limited access to your stored items during the storage period. If access is required, requests will be subject to availability and incur an additional $175 Convenience Fee.These requests must be arranged directly with our moving partner(s), as detailed on the FAQs page of the Company website.


13. Prohibited Items. The following items are prohibited for storage and may result in immediate termination of the agreement:

  • Hazardous materials (e.g., chemicals, explosives, flammable items) 
  • Perishable goods 
  • Illegal items (e.g., drugs, firearms, stolen property) 
  • Living organisms (e.g., pets, plants) 


14. Indemnification. The Customer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Company from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including attorney’s fees) arising from the Customer’s use of the storage service, including but not limited to the breach of these Terms and Conditions.


15. Changes to Terms. The Company reserves the right to modify or update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated to the Customer via email or through our website.


16. Governing Law. These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Washington, DC, and any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Washington, DC.
