Before You Get Started

Is Pack&Store right for you? Consider the following before booking:

Pack&Store works best for freshmen, since their Fall housing is guaranteed. Pack&Store will return to campus on the Saturday all dorms are open for Fall semester (last year was 8.15.25). If you find out over the Summer that you did NOT receive on-campus housing, we can deliver your items to campus. You are free to make your own moving arrangements or arrange pick up directly with our moving partner to deliver off-campus for a $225 charge.

Please consider this before booking with Pack&Store.

If your plans change after your items are in storage and you need them back early, you can submit an Unscheduled Retrieval Request using the form below. Early retrieval is coordinated with our moving partner and is subject to their availability β€” no date is guaranteed.

How it works:

  1. Complete the Early Retrieval Request Form
  2. Provide up to 3 preferred dates and time windows
  3. Pay the $225 Unscheduled Retrieval Fee at checkout
  4. We will respond within 72 hours to confirm your date

The sooner you submit your request, the more likely you are to get your preferred date and time.

Retrieval is subject to moving partner availability. No date is guaranteed. The $225 Unscheduled Retrieval Fee is non-refundable once paid.

Pack&Store has two confirmed pickup days for Spring 2026:

  • Wednesday, May 6, 2026
  • Friday, May 8, 2026

These are the only guaranteed pickup dates at this time. We are considering adding Sunday, May 10 as a third pickup day based on demand β€” but this date is not confirmed and not guaranteed.

If you are interested in a May 10 pickup, submit a request via our Contact / Support  and select "Other" as your issue type. We will use this to gauge interest. Submitting a request does not reserve a spot or guarantee a May 10 pickup date.

It is very important you read all Pack&Store  Terms & Conditions and FAQs and review the information on our website to ensure you understand the process. Still have questions? Ask our Student CMO or reach out via our Contact / Support form.

Tips to Help You Choose Your Summer Storage Package

Estimating the supplies necessary to pack a dorm room can seem tricky, but with a little organization and info, it is totally doable. Read the following tips before you choose your Summer Storage Package.

  • Assess items by categories: Clothes, books, electronics, kitchenware, bedding, and personal items
  • Make a list of larger items: Consider furniture-sized items like a microwave, mini-fridge, fan, or lamp β€” these count as Additional Items in your package
  • Know your storage options: Pack&Store uses two types of soft bags and three box sizes. Choose based on what you're storing:

Soft Storage (included in all packages):

  • Storage Bag (29β€³Γ—14β€³Γ—13β€³) β€” ideal for clothing, shoes, books, and soft items
  • Bedding Storage Bundle (23β€³Γ—16β€³Γ—13β€³) β€” ideal for comforters, pillows, and linens

Boxes (available as add-ons):

  • Small Box (17β€³Γ—11β€³Γ—11β€³) β€” books, shoes, small household items
  • Medium Box (21β€³Γ—15β€³Γ—16β€³) β€” clothing, kitchen items, dorm dΓ©cor
  • Large Box (27β€³Γ—16β€³Γ—15β€³) β€” bedding, bulkier items, larger household goods

Pack&Store provides soft storage bags with every package β€” boxes are available as add-ons for items that pack better in a rigid container.

Soft Storage Bags (included in your package):

  • Storage Bag (29β€³Γ—14β€³Γ—13β€³): Best for clothes, shoes, books, and soft personal items. Most students fill 2–3 bags with clothing alone
  • Bedding Storage Bundle (23β€³Γ—16β€³Γ—13β€³): Designed specifically for comforters, pillows, and linens β€” keeps bedding compressed and protected all summer

Boxes (available as add-ons at checkout):

  • Small Box (17β€³Γ—11β€³Γ—11β€³): Best for books, shoes, and small household items β€” $37
  • Medium Box (21β€³Γ—15β€³Γ—16β€³): Best for kitchenware, electronics, and small appliances β€” $42
  • Large Box (27β€³Γ—16β€³Γ—15β€³): Best for clothes, bedding, and bulkier items β€” $48

Pro tip: Storage bags are more flexible than boxes β€” they compress around your items and are easier to carry downstairs on pickup day.

Use this as a guide to figure out how many bags and boxes you'll need before choosing your package.

  • Clothes: Most students need 2–4 Storage Bags for clothing. If you have a lot of seasonal or out-of-season items, plan for the higher end. Pack&Store recommends using your suitcase or duffel bag as an Additional Item to maximize space
  • Books: 1–2 Small Boxes is usually enough for textbooks and novels
  • Electronics: Laptops, chargers, and small devices fit easily into 1 Medium Box. Do not pack laptops or valuables β€” these should travel with you
  • Bedding: 1 Bedding Storage Bundle covers sheets, towels, pillows, and a comforter. If you have extra blankets or a mattress topper, add a Storage Bag
  • Kitchenware: Plates, cups, and utensils pack well into 1–2 Medium Boxes. Mini-fridges and microwaves do not need to be boxed β€” they count as Additional Items (Large or Medium Item) in your package
  • Shoes: Fit well in a Storage Bag alongside clothing, or use a Small Box if you have many pairs

Important: No food, perishables, valuables (jewelry, cash, electronics over $500), or prohibited items. Pack&Store is not liable for damage caused by prohibited contents.

Pack&Store is flexible β€” not everything needs to go in a bag or box. Here's how to maximize your package:

  • Suitcases & Duffel Bags: These count as one of your Additional Items and are a great way to pack more without buying extra bags. Roll your clothes tightly to fit as much as possible
  • Storage Bins: Clear bins are great for non-fragile items like toiletries, food, or extra school supplies β€” wait, no food or perishables. Use bins for toiletries, cleaning supplies, or dorm organization items. They can be stored unpacked and count as one Additional Item
  • Loose Item Bundle: If you have up to 3 small loose items that don't fit neatly into a bag or box, the Loose Item Bundle add-on ($27) groups them together as one storage unit
  • Mini-Fridge & Microwave: These are stored as-is β€” no box needed. They each count as one Additional Item (Large or Medium) in your package. Make sure your mini-fridge is fully defrosted and dry before pickup day

Pro tip: Before adding boxes, ask yourself if the item could fit in a bag or be grouped with something else. Every Additional Item slot you save is flexibility you keep for later β€” and you can always add items during registration or through our Add-On form after ordering.

The earlier you start, the easier pickup day will be. Here is a simple timeline to follow:

  • 2–3 weeks before pickup: Go through your room and decide what is staying, what is going home, and what is going into storage. Start pulling items aside
  • 1 week before pickup: Begin packing bags and boxes. Label everything clearly with your name and order number β€” QR code labels will be provided in your Packing Supply Kit
  • 2–3 days before pickup: Make sure every item has a QR code label visible on the outside. This is required β€” items without a visible QR code will not be accepted at pickup
  • Night before pickup: Have everything packed, sealed, and ready to go. Place all items near your door or in a staging area so you can bring them downstairs quickly on pickup morning
  • πŸ”΄ At least 12 hours before pickup: You must submit a confirmation photo of every item in your order using the Pack&Store Confirmation Photo form. Each photo must clearly show the items packed and ready for retrieval with the QR code label visible. Orders without a completed photo submission will not be picked up β€” no exceptions. No refunds will be issued for orders that are not ready or do not meet photo requirements.
  • Morning of pickup: You will receive texts and emails with a more specific arrival window. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR ITEMS ON THE CURB BY THE ESTABLISHED TIME. We recommend you start heading downstairs AT LEAST 30 minutes before your established time to allow for storage bin retrieval and elevator delays. A $190 Inconvenience/Rescheduling Fee applies if items are not ready on time. All sales are final β€” no refunds.

Remember: You will pick up your free Packing Supply Kit at one of our Supply Distribution Events on campus β€” April 22, April 29, or May 5, all from 12pm–2pm. Do not wait until the last minute to get your kit.
