Become Our 2027 Student Chief Marketing Officer!

Pack & Store Summer Storage (PSSS) is seeking one junior or senior Marketing or Communications major to serve as the 2026 Student Chief

Marketing Officer (CMO) for Howard University. One student will be selected per campus.

This is a paid, semester-long leadership role designed for a highly motivated student interested in real-world marketing execution, operations coordination, and performance-based results. This is not an ambassador role or a passive internship.

Role Overview
The Student CMO will have full ownership of campus marketing strategy and execution for the 2026 season at their assigned campus. The role also includes coordination and oversight of service execution activities during end-of-year move-out, with paid staff support provided by PSSS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and execute all campus marketing strategy and activities
  • Lead social media outreach with emphasis on out-of-state clubs and affinity groups
  • Plan and execute 3–5 marketing events or brand activations
  • Coordinate packing supply distribution and order pick-up logistics
  • Hire and oversee temporary paid staff for service days
  • Track performance, report weekly progress, and participate in required check-ins
  • Submit a written Marketing Plan and end-of-season Close-Out Report

Commitment Requirements

  • Full-semester commitment from February through May 2026
  • Ability to balance this role alongside midterms and finals
  • Required on-campus presence through the final pick-up day
  • Weekly communication and check-ins required
  • Must be able to receive weekly payments via PayPal

Compensation

  • February: $200 (upon acceptance of completed Marketing Plan)
  • March: $600
  • April: $800
  • May: Performance Bonus

Performance Bonus
The CMO Performance Bonus is paid at $20 per completed order and is guaranteed per sale. Total bonus compensation is based on performance. Based on the 2026 season goal of approximately 50 completed orders, bonus earnings may reach $1,000, with no cap on upside. Bonus release is contingent upon submission and acceptance of a required Close-Out Report.

Eligibility

  • Junior or senior Marketing or Communications major
  • Outgoing personality and comfort with in-person and digital engagement
  • Strong organization, accountability, and leadership skills

Application Requirements

  • Confirmation of full-semester availability
  • Confirmation of on-campus availability through final pick-up date
  • One written reference with valid contact information

Applications without a reference will not be considered.
